EASTON PARK.
LETTER FROM DONER TO COUNCIL.
AIR. EASTON’S WISHES OUTLINED.
At Tuesday night’s special meeting of the Borough Council, the following letter was read and received from Mr A. S. Easton, donor, of Easton Park: —
“I was in hopes that the contentious matter brought before the Beautifying Society in regard to Easton Park had been settled, and I sincerely trust that any disagreement now existing will be settled, and that all will work together for the common good. As at the annual meeting of the society my wishes as donor were quoted hv both sides, I would like to remove any misunderstanding by stating thnt T gave the ground to the people of Foxton and not to any single body or club. I would like to see it made a beauty spot and where any or the whole of the people (espe- - -*peinlly women and children) can enjoy themselves. The first proposal, which was embodied in a plan drawn by Mr Black had my approval.”
