OBITUARY.

MR C. J. B. GOLDER, AGED 81 YEARS. The death took place at his daughter’s (Mrs Crichton) residence, Newton, Auckland, at noon yesterday of Mr C. J. B. Golder, father of Messrs Jno. and William Golder, of Foxton, aged 81 years. The late Mr Golder was born at the Lower Hutt on December 25th, 1842. His father, Mr William Golder, was a schoolmaster at the Hutt and subsequently returned to Stratliam, Scotland. The late Mr Golder was a watchmaker and was in business in Invercargill, Waipawa, Masterton and Foxton. He printed and published a number of pamphlets dealing with prophesies. He also wrote a booklet of poetry. The late Mr Golder was of a retiring disposition and spent most of bis spare time in literary pursuits. He had been bedridden since 1916. He leaves a family of two sons and one daughter and a number of grandchildren to mourn their loss. The funeral takes place at Auckland tomorrow.
