RABBIT BOARD.
The petitions containing the signal arcs of settlers for the formation of a Rabbit Board will be presented to the County Clerk at Bandon to-morrow. Considerably more signatures have been obtained lo the petilion than is required by the Act and these will be forwarded to the Minister who will take the necessary steps to have the Board constituted.
The area over which the Board will operate is about 70,000 acres and extends from the Rangitikei river to Kangiotu, Himatangi and Mouloa and takes in the land to the west between tin* two rivers. The preliminary work has been done by the following commit tee -Messrs (lloyn sear., Kingdon, Boyce, Allsop, Bond, Schreiber and I' 1 . Woods.
II is probable that the Board will consist of seven members with the inspector ex-ollieio.
