THE JOHNSONVILLE MURDER.

TUHI TO DIE. Dunedin, April 12. An Executive Council meeting was held by the Governor-General this morning to determine finally whether the death sentence on John Tuhi for tlie murder of Herbert Henry Knight, at Johnsonville, should be carried into effect.

At a fall meeting of Cabinet in Wellington recently, after careful consideration of the Judge’s report of the evidence, it was decided that Cabinet could find no reason why the sentence should not be carried into effect. At this morning’s Executive meeting, Lord Jellicoe concurred in the advice tendered by Cabinet, and it was accordingly determined that the sentence be carried into effect.
