“POPPY DAY."

At a meeting held in the Town Hall yesterday it was decided that the local returned soldiers give their assistance again this year, towards successfully carrying out “Poppy Campaign" in Foxton. In anwer to a question, Mr W. (1. Kutherfurd stated that last year’s funds were used for the purpose of placing men in employment through local bodies only. No doles were made in any ease. Though no application had been made from Foxton for monies, a certain amount was still on hand, which would together with this year’s grant, be given to Foxton local bodies, should the amount he asked for.
