FEBRUARY WORKING
The amount of' gas manufactured during the month of February was 448,000 e.ft., which with the amount in the holder on the Ist February, 10,000 feet, made a total of 458,000 e.ft. During, the month 309,500 ft. was used bv consumers, 18,000 ft. in street, lamps, 22,500 ft. at the works and there was 10,400 ft. in the holder on March Ist, making a total of 420,400 ft. and leaving 32,200 ft., representing 7 per cent, unaccounted for. Thirty-nine tons of coal were carbonised during the month, yielding 11,502 e.ft. to the ton.
The earnings for the month totalled £273 19/7' and was made up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £lll 0s lOd, heat and power £ll3 2s 7d, coke sales, £2O 4s Sd, tar sales £l4, weighing £3 2s, fittings £lO 12s sd, labour fittings 3/9, disinfectant 19/0, miscellaneous 8/-, a total of £273 19/9. The expenditure for the month totalled £283 19/9 and was made up as follows:—Coal £93 17/9, salaries and wages £73 5s lid, services £5 I.os sd, fittings £4 9s 7d, repairs to engine £l4 13s lOd, coal shed £2 19s, weighbridge £3 0s 2d, Insurance £2 2s Bd, printing £7 11/3, freight and carting 4/1, water service £9 17/2, kerosene £3 4/4, disinfectant £1 14/4, fire cement £1 4/-, working exs. 13/7, interest and sinking fund £59 11/8, a total of £283 19/9.
