ARTISTIC MILLINERY DISPLAY.
That one can live in one’s own town and not know just what’s going on right under one’s own eyes, was strikingly exemplified yesterday when a very fine display of city fashions called forth a well-earned tribute to local enterprise. Indeed, after yesterday’s visit, our reporter is more convinced than ever that Foxtoii stores are a real asset to Foxton people, and that business should drift to other centres at all is a matter for contemplation. In conversation with the head of The C. M. Ross Co. Ltd.’s showrooms, it was stated that a recent visit to Wellington revealed the fact tha the values offered in the capital city were not to be compared with these offered locally. In regard to their special display of imported millinery,, coats, and costumes, it was plainly evident that they left nothing to lie desired from the standpoint of smartness and style, etc. The net cash prices ruling are extremelv favourable to customers and a very pleasing feature about the whole display was the artistic manner in which it had been carried out. Beautiful floral effects and festoons of Autumn leaves made a setting worthy only of such a modern and up-to-date exposition and left; our reporter wondering how it was aIF done.
