FOXTON TENNIS CLUB.

The excellent weather conditions attracted a large number of players during the week and several ladder matches and competitions for the Robinson Ferns were played. The match committee will declare the handicaps this evening for the (Rose Bowl) Ladies Trophy, and also the Foxton Tennis Club (men’s) tournament.

The Manawatu Tennis Club are sending a team to Foxton on Saturday next, 10th inst., comprising six men and four ladies, to play a friendly match and the Foxton players will be announced in the next issue of the Herald. Play to commence about 1.30 ji,m. The ladies tea committee will kindly arrange the afternoon tea, etc., for the entertainment of the visitors. Members are again earnestly requested to obtain all possible practice for the forthcoming Country Cup and Newman Cup matches.
