REMOVAL OF EMBARGO.

The announcement of the intention of the Government to remove the embargo on the importation of goods from Germany was considered at a meeting of the'Council of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, . After a brief discussion the following resolution was agreed to on the motion of Mr Myers seconded byMr A. E. Longuet: —“That in consequence of merchants having ordered their goods for next Christmas, this Chamber urges upon the Government to postpone the lifting of-the embargo on trade with Germany, until Ist January, 1924.”
