TRIANGULAR SHIELD CONTEST.

. The final round of the Triangular Shield contest was played at Levin yesterday afternoon. The weather conditions were ideal hut.the Levin green just now is not in very good playing order, due to the unusually heavy rains experienced this season. The results of the contest were a foregone conclusion, Levin having such an advantage at the conpletion of the second round as to make it well nigh impossible for them to lose first place. Interest therefore centred mostly around the second place, Shannon and Foxton being 104 points each before yesterday’s play. Shannon secured ’second posi- . tion over Foxton by just one point, and the final aggregates for the three clubs were as follows: —Levin 175, Shannon 148, Foxton 147. Admore’s rink had a decided win over Bull’s team, Bull being only two up on the twelfth head, to Admore’s 16, after which Levin made a little headway, the final scores lining Admore 26, Bull 10. Of the other Foxton rink, they. had rather a hard row to hoe, be- -~+'- ing twelve down on the ninth head, after their opponents had scored a seven and a four on the sixth and seventh heads. However, they ultimately evened up the scores a little and were eight down on the completion of the game. The results of games are as follows : Clements snr., Challis, Percy, Bull (s), Levin, 10; Ball, Bryant, Smith, Admore (s), 26. McLeavey, Reading, Suhan, Harris (s), Levin, 25; Healey, Huntley, Pearson, lioss (s), 17. Other games were: —Clements (Levin), 25, Fargher (Shannon) 19. Knowles (Shannon) 25, Rankin (Levin) 15. Congratulatory speeches were made at the conclusion of play by Mr Spence (Shannon) and Smith (Foxton), and Mr Bull'thanked the visitors on behalf of the home club. '
