FOOTBALL.
SPECIAL MEETING. A special general meeting of the members of the local football club was held in the Town Hall supper- j room on Tuesday night. There was a good attendance or members present. Mr Hutchins was elected to the chair and Air J.:Christie, in the absence of Air Roore, appointed secretary for the evening. CORRESPONDENCE. A letter was read from the Poxton Association Football Club, asking if the Club wanted to use Easton Park for matches this year. It was pointed out that the Association Football Club had been granted permission to form a ground on the race-course. Air Hutchins pointed out that if the clubs were both playing on the one area there would be confusion in the matter of gate moneys. It was decided to retain the use of Easton Park. ‘•WORKING BEE.” Air Hutchins pointed out: that it was necessary for the members to gel together and start practice. He would suggest that a “working bee” he arranged to get the grounds in order. Decided to hold a “working bee” on Saturday week to put the grounds in older. It was decided to place four teams, the same as last season, in the field this season.
A hearty vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
