FOXTON FIRE BOARD.

A meeting of the local members of/ the Foxton Fire Board was held last night. Present: Messrs Chrystall (chairman) Hornblow, Bryant, A. X. Smith and the secretary (Mr IT. Frankland). A letter was received from the Wellington members re raising loan and it was decided to endeavour to raise the money required by debentures, bearing interest at G per cent for a period of five years. Mr Hornblow suggested that the contractor proceed with the erection of the fire station and that progress payment, if required, be met by a “joint and several” until the loan was received. Tt was' decided to advertise sale of debentures immediately. Other minor matters were discussed and ti o meeting rose.
