TUI ANGULAR SHIELD CONTEST
The second round of the Triangular Shield contest was played at Shannon yesterday. The weather was line, but a rather strong wind iiitrcfercd with play and made the run of the bowls uncertain. The green was in great condition, being fast and even too fast, rather, for players’ comfort and good judgment. The usual generous hospitality was shown visitors bv the home club, and the outing was voted one of the most enjoyable of the season. l oxlon had one win by a narrow margin, and one loss, so far as individual games - went, but iii the-ag-gregate are standing even with Shannon, Levin heing.elose up 'with an advantage of two extra rinks in the final round. The details of the games in which Foxton took part are as follows: — Foxton: Pearson, Huntley, Ross, ixoore (s), 20; Shannon: Gardner, E Butt, Me.Kegg, Gagliardi (s), 19. Shannon: T. Shannon, Murray, Spencer, Knowles (s) 18; Foxton: Ball, Smith, Christie, Nye (s) 13. Other games were: —Harris (Lev A 22 v. Farghor (Shannon) 13. Clements (Levin) 37 v. Murphy (Shannon) 17.
The aggregates for yesterday’s play are as follows: —Levin 59, Shannon (57, Foxton 33. The aggregates for the two rounds now stand at: —Levin 100, Shannon 104, Foxton 10 1.

It is anticipated that ilie final will he played at Levin on the 2Sth inst.
The next round of the Wilford Cup Singles contest has been drawn, and resulted as follows: —Parkin (0) v. Healey (2); Huntley (2) v. Jin). Ross (2); Smith (2) v. Ball (2); Thomson ((>) v. Howe (6); Downes ((>)> v. D. Whibley (2) ; Walker (3) v. Ronre (scr.). Contestants are requested to complete their game as soon as possible. Play will be on the “sudden death” principle, the loser game falling out of t lie contest.
A rink composed of Ball, Jno Ross, Roore and Nye will visit Feilding on Wednesday next to play a match for the Dixon Cup.
