During the brief visit, of Mr Me- \ illy, General-Manager of Railways and his departmental officers to Paxton on Tuesday afternoon, the Hoard chairman (Mr J. If he cut from Marotiri to Poxton was onlimred through the Matakaraia swamp, there was a possibility if the present channel to the wharf dlting up. The reclamation of housands of acres of first-class and was involved in the scheme, vhieli would justify the cost of the vork.
