FOXTON FIRE BOARD.
A mooting- oL' local members of the box lon Fire Board was held last night. There were present Messrs Chrystall (chairman), Hornblow, Smith and the secretary (Mr H. Frankland). The rules drawn up by the brigade were approved subject to one or two minor amendments. Correspondence was read from the Wellington members who were authorised to raise a loan for capital expenditure and who stated that same could be obtained at six per cent. —It was unanimously decided to authorise the loan provided a lower rate of interest could not bo obtained. It was also stated that the Minister of Internal Affairs had sanctioned the-increase of capital expenditure' found necessary for the erection of the fire station. The Wllington members also stated that they had secured a one-ton Ford chassis with self starter and lighting apparatus and forwarded specifications for the body. It was decided to approve the purchase provided the sale was effected through the local agents, as previously agreed upon. The sum of £5 was donated to the local brigade in connection with sending a team to compete at the Dominion Fire Brigades demonstration to he held in Dunedin.
