“MARVELLOUS MANAWATU.”
Readers are invited to send in photographs of interest for publication in forthcoming Guide Book, These photographs will be paid for at the rate of from 1/- to 10/each according to merit and interest. Must be on glossy bromide or P.O.P. for reproduction as blocks. Subjects of interest will be: —crops of all kinds, stock, beauty spots, sporting pictures, pleasure resorts, scen,ery, game such as deer, ducks, trout, etc., agricultural scenes, educational institutions and demonstrations, business scenes, street scenes, sports and pastimes, mountaineering and motoring, etc. Give brief details ■with any picture that needs explanation and be sure your name and address are plainly written on back of each to ensure return. All photographs not used by advertising Committee will be returned and those used will be paid for at the same time, their decision to be final. The photographs will be published in official Guide Book and sent out. to different parts of New Zealand and the world. Address to Chamber of Commerce, Box 186, Palmerston North. Entries are also invited for a. suitable slogan, the shorter and more descriptive the better. For instance Nelson uses the slogan “Sunny Nelson, the Garden of New Zealand,” while Hamilton says, “Hamilton, the Hub of the Waikato.” Some happy, descriptive slogan, rhyming or alliterative, is going to win three guineas. It is not ne T cessary to use the phrase “Marvellous Manawatu” if you can coin a better one. Entries are free and should be addressed as above. Competitors are asked to remember that the “Marvellous Manawatu” comprises five counties, Horowhenua, Kairanga, Manawatu, Oroua, and pohangina.*
