SACRED CONCERT.

A sacred concert was held in the Town Hall on -Sunday night and was largely attended. The concert was organised by the Palmerston Silver Band in aid of its funds and it generously offered half of the amount to the Foxton Silver Band. The hand played a number of selections under I lie conductorship of Mr Pike which were thoroughly appreciated. The numbers included “Lead Kindly Light,” selection, drum exhibition and march “Twentieth Century.” Character duet by two little children Adda and Vera de Marr, very clever, but somewhat out of place at a sacrod concert. “The Holy City,” splendidly rendered by Miss Ross, violin solo, Mr Loveday, song, Mr Woollett, character song, little Miss Edna de Marr and songs by Mrs Procter and Mr Dicks. Mr Hornblow in a brief speech paid a tribute to the Palmerston Band for its offer of generous assist,'met to the Foxton Silver Band. He hoped that little differences in connection with the formation of (ho Foxton Silver Band would pass away and that it would lie placed on a sound footing. We arc asked to thank Airs Morgan for supplying afternoon tea and the picture managements (Royal and Town Hall) for free advertising.
