POLICE SURPRISE RUNAWAY PRISONER.
Blenheim, January 22. William Walker Johnstone escaped from the Nelson Gaol on Sunday, where he was awaiting (lie decision of the Prisons Board on his breach of n probationary license issued a I Auckland. Johnstone was- smartly captured early this morning, on route to Christchurch in a taxi, by the Blenheim police under SeniorSergeant Clarkson, who worked a clever ambush.
