BOXING.
At the Manawatu 'Boxing Association’s tournament held at Palmerston on Buiiiiig night, Sid Upton (Montout 10.7 met Snowy Armstrong (Palmerston) 10.8. Each man scored in the tirst interchange. Upton getting home a left to the face on the stroke of the gong. Upton showed the effect of the pace in the second round, but gave several hard punches in return. Armstrong attacked strongly in the third and had Upton kept a straight left tie would have scored heavily. As it was. he punished his man, registering a number of hits in the last round and scoring a popular victerv.
