SHIPS MANNED AT SYDNEY.
APPLICATION TO DEREGISTER UNION. Sydney. December 6. The back of the Seamen’s strike lias been broken. The Union Company has secured full volunteer crews for the Moeraki and Waikawa. It is stated that if trouble is experienced with the stewards, their places will be also tilled by volunteers. The company intends to continue to conduct its enrolling centre. Efforts will be made to dispatch other vessels. Volunteers are enrolling; at Newcastle to man the Koromiko and Kauri. It i- officially announced that the steamship owners tire making early application to the Federal Arbitration Court for the de-registration of [lie Seamen’s I’nion. MOERAKI TO SAIL ON FRIDAY. Sydney, December li. It i- anticipated that the Moeraki with a volunteer crew will sail on Friday for New Zealand. No steps have yet been taken to commission the Ivanna. Koranui or Kittawa, which are on Australian articles. There are no further developments regarding the Ulimaroa.
