Sir James Mitchell, Premier of Western Australia, replying to an anti-liquor deputation requesting au independent Government report on the working of prohibition in America, said that anti-liquor would get '•y a shock when the report was submitted. People would not change the habits of a lifetime without a protest and Americans had protested by resorting to drugs. The community would be better oil economically without drink or tobacco, but there would not be much enjoyment of life. —X.Z. newspapers, October 24th.
