The display of rose blooms in the C. M. Ross Co.’s centre window on Sat unlay at n uclei! a great deal of attention. Some beautiful blooms were exhibited and the public were divided in their choice. The tirst prize was voted to Mr K. Robinson's bloom, Mrs Seville ■- exhibit being second. Some ot the roses exhibited would do credit to any show and ii is hoped that those

Ai the bieal Police Court yesterday before Mr it. W. Robertson, .J.]’., .James Collins and \Ytn. Deo. Collins, arrested on Saturday night, were charged with disorderly- behaviour while drunk on the water front. Erom the police evidence it would appear that the two men were found oil the river hunk in a drunken condition and with their coats oil ready to commence hostilities mi cadi other when the police arrived on the scene and the proceedings were terminated by a visit to the lock-up, They were subsequently admitted to bail and the former, who failed to put in an appearance at the Court, was convicted and fined 20/- while the latter who appeared at the Court and pleaded guilty was lined 10/-,
