Bryant (3) II: Parkin (fi) 32 v. Walton (6) 18; F. Whibley (2) 2(i v. Thomson (6) 2-1. Both matches in which Whibley met hi- opponents were in doubt until the filial head, the finish of the Tlmmson-Whibley game being played in the rain, which also interferred with the tinisli of the day’s play. A game for the Nye Ferns was played yesterday afternoon, the holders retaining the trophies by a lair margin. The details are as follows: — D. Whibley, Heasinan. Healey, Admore (sj 21, Roore. Walker, Smith, Barr (s) 14. The following team has posted a challenge for the next match: — Christie, Parkin, Huntley, Ball (s). The first round in the Triangular Shield Contest has been arranged for the 22nd instant, at Foxton, anil the following teams have been drawn by the selection committee to take part in the contest: — Pearson, McCoil, Smith, Nye (s).
