SCHOOL AT SEASIDE.

The Wanganui Education Board recently consented to establish a •school at the seaside, which was opened on' Tuesday last in charge of Miss Purnell ami a roll number of eighteen scholars, nine of whom were previously in attendance at the local school. The Beach Improvemen! Commit tec have given the hall rent free, for a period of three years and additions have been made to the building to meet (lie* convenience of the school. Attached to the ball is a tennis court and a reserve, which will he used by the children a.-* a playing area. The school was formally opened bv Air Fraser, and short speeches were made by Messrs Linklaier and Dnwick, members of the Beach Improvement Committee, after which the lady residents of the Beach entertained the visitors to afternoon lea in All Saints' Children’s Home.
