SHIP’S CREW SENTENCED.

FOR THEFT OF CARGO

Auckland, Last Night. William Benjamin MacDonald, Richard MeOvo.y and Herbert Samuel B. Dutton, members of the Mailin's crew, were charged at the police Court with the theft at sea of sixteen bottles of whisky from the cargo. MacDonald was sentenced to three months imprisonment, McOvoy to two months, Dutton to two months, and a similar sentence to lie cumulative, on a second charge of theft of twelve bottles. The accused were also ordered to pay for the whisky.
