MEAT AND WOOL FREIGHTS
REQUEST FOR REDUCTION. AUSTRALIAN GROWERS’ DEPUTATION. MELBOURNE, Sept. 22. A representative deputation from tlio Graziers’ Association asked Mr Hughes for a reduction of freights on meat and wool for export, explaining that the Australian Growers are charged .267 per pound more for wool than New Zealand growers are charged, which mado a difference of £640,000 for thp season’s clip. Mr Hughes promised to consult the management of the Commonwealth Line, and asked them to assist in every way possible. —Press Association.
