“ROYAL PICTURES.”
“A Midnight Bell,” Charles Ray’s latest picture, which will be featured as a First National attraction at the Royal on Friday, is an adaptation of Charles Hoyt’s well-known stake play. It is full of life, swift action, and in it Ray has the opportunity to display a variety of emotions. “From grave to gay, from lively to severe.” There is some splendid comedy portrayed in the best Ray vein, especially in the small general store where the young fellow, determined to get a job, shows his ability as a salesman and astonishes the old-fash-ioned storekeeper with his ability to make people part with their dollars. As an extra, “Fantomas” will be continued. Saturday’s special will feature the great Marshall Neilan superdrama, “Bits of Life,” a remarkable production holding a theme of great interest. •
