FOXTON CROQUET CLUB.
The annual genei’nl meeting of the above club was held in the pavilion last Wednesday afternoon and -was presided over by Mr Christie, president of the Bowling Club. There were present:— Mesdames Bryant, Perreau, Wyllie, Smith, Ball, McColl, Huntley, Parkes, Heasman, Owen and Pearson (secretary). The minutes of previous annual meeting were read and confirmed. The following officers were elected for the current season : —President, Mrs Perreau; vice-president, Mrs Wyllie; committee: Mesdames Parkes, Smith, MeColl, Heasman, Huntley, and Owen; hon. secretary, Mrs Owen. Mrs Downs was elected a member of the club. The meeting unanimously decided, on the motion of Mesdames Huntley and MeColl, that a cordial vote of thanks be accorded to Mrs Pearson for hex* valuable services rendered during the past two years as secretary. A vote of thanks was accorded to Ah’ Christie for the promised donation of a trophy. Thanks and appreciation were accorded to all who had in any way assisted the club during the past yea r.
The date for the opening has not yet been fixed but it will coincide with the opening of the bowling green. There is every indication that fhe ensuing season will be a very successful one and some interesting tournaments are anticipated.
