SATURDAY’S INTER-PROVIN-
CIAL RESULTS
Hawke’s Bay, holders of the Rnnfnrly Shield, narrowly defeated Bay of Plenty in a match for the trophy by 17 to 16. Wellington defeated the touring Auckland team by 19 to 11.
A good deal of interest attached to the Otago-Southland game as both provinces had an unbeaten record so far this season. A good match ended in favour of Otago by 14-to 10.
Canterbury 17 beat Taranaki 13 after a fast and exciting game. The touring Wanganui side were too good for Motueka, winning by 17 to 0.
The second test- of the New Zea-land-S.vdney Universities was played at Dunedin, New Zealand proving too good, and won by a margin of 15 points to 8. South Canterbury beat a Wanganui rep, team at Wanganui by 11 to 8.
