WAR FUNDS COUNCIL

The local advisory committee of the War Funds Council met on Tuesday evening. Present: the Mayor (Mr John Chrystall) and Messrs Hornblow, Huntley, Thomson, Miss Sewell and the secretary (Mr Trueman). The secretary’s action in gi-anting relief in a case reported from Wellington was endorsed. In a case reported from Palmerston it was decided to inform the Palmerston Patriotic committee that the Applicant was not a resident of this district and to point out that Foxton only deait with cases within this district which extended from Himatangi and south to Moutoa. on the west bank of the Manawatu. Decided to inform Wellington committee that the committee could not take responsibility for relief to an ex-Shannon applicant. Several other matters were dealt with and the meeting rose.
