EXPRESS DERAILMENT
DAMAGE RUNS INTO THOUSANDS STERLING. Auckland, Monday. The damage caused by the derailment of the Main Trunk express at Drury will ran into several thousand pounds. No official estimate has yet been made, but it is stated that the repairs to the shattered track and rolling stock will be fairly extensive. So far activity is concentrated on temporary work, and the replacement of the permanent way is now in hand. ARRIVED FIVE HOURS LATE. Wellington, Sunday. Saturday’s noi*th express arrived five hours late. The mishap did not interfere with the running of the New Plymouth or Napier trains.
