AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB

There was a large number of enthusiasts present at a meeting held last night for the purpose of ing an Amateur Athletic Club, locally. Mr Perreau occupied the chair.

It was decided that a committee to consist of nine members be set \ up, five of which were elected at rqf the meeting, the remaining four to he elected at a later meeting. The lire elected were: Messrs Hutchins, Parkin, Mclver, Desmond and Howe; Treasurer W. Kirkland; secretary, J. Madden. . * The meeting was very enthusiastic- and it _is hoped that in a short time Foxton will be up to its old standard in regard to athletics. A further meeting of committee will be held next Monday evening.
