The local players selected are Moses and Reid emergency. Considerable dissatisfaction has been expressed locally that the Manawatu-Horowhenua rep. match is to be played at- Levin on Saturday instead of Foxton, as it was understood that Foxton was to be the centre selected. No reason has yet been given why the change was made but an explanation is to be asked by the local club. The inter-College match, Te Aute v. Wanganui was played on the Palmerston show grounds yesterday, and was witnessed by about 12,000 spectators. The Maori boys outclassed Wanganui in every branch of the game and won by 19 points to 8. It will be remembered two years ago, the record of each team in a series of 23 matches was —eleven games won and lost, and one drawn, the total points scored also being equal. Last year and again yesterday, Te Ante registered a victory, so that the Maori boys have now thirteen wins to their credit. as against Wanganui’s eleven. The Te Ante juniors defeateed Wanganui junior’s byT.4 to 6.
