The Rev. G. S. Cook was re-elec-ted secretary, and the Revs. P. J. Cossum and A. Meßean were appointed reporters to the Methodist Times and local paper respectively. The Annual District Synod was fixed for Tuesday, November 7th, at Feilding; and it was decided to hold the next Annua] Council at Danevirke.

An address was given by the Rev. P. J." Cossum, on “The Minister in his study.” The minister’s work was divided into two sections, viz., that inside the study, and fhal outside. One was complementary to the other, and neither could be neglected. In the study the minister gets into touch with the great minds of 4he pastj .as well; as those that are contemporary. The study is the minister's workshop, where he fashions his address and prepares for his public work. ‘The study is also his oratory, where he conies into touch .with God, and receives his a;'ssnge from God. The importance of sou! culture and how it can be brought about was dwelt upon, and a helpful discus-don ensued. During the afternoon the Council met as a Home Mission Committee, and arranged Home Mission Services and meetings for the district.

Afternoon tea was provided by hi dies from the Foxton congrega - tjon, to whom the cordial thanks of the council was tendered, on the motion of the Rev. A. Ashcroft, Mrs Downs making a neat speech in acknowledgement. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the hosts and hostesses for their generous and kind hospitality; to the Rev. L. Minifie for the complete and happy arrangements made for the visitors’ comfort and happiness; to the trustees of the Foxton Church; to the Press, and to the chairman and secretarv.

On Wednesday morning the visitors were motored to the beach, and subsequently were taken for a drive round the district. All were enthusiastic in their praise of the hospitality accorded them during their visit to Foxton.
