■ y The Rev. and Mrs Halliday family are to leave Foxton for T Auckland next week, where Mr Halliday will he inducted to the charge of St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church. At Rangiotu on Thursday night, elmrch< members and settlers entertained the departing guests at a social in which the Maori settlers joined. Eulogistic speeches were made and regret expressed at the departure of Mr and Mrs Halliday. On behalf of those assembled Mr Gimlett presented the Rev. Mr Halliday with a pocket hook and a substantial cheque, which was suitably and feelingly acknowledged by the recipient. Good wishes were expressed for the guests future happiness and success. Vocal items were contributed and refreshments supplied. The local Masonic Lodge, of which Mr Halliday has been an active member, will tender him a farewell on Monday evening. The local Presbyterian Church will farewell their minister and Mrs Halliday at a farewell social in the schoolroom at 7.30 o’clock on Tuesday evening. The local friends of Mr,and Mrs Halliday are cordially invited to take this opportunity of bidding farewell to them. 1
