TOWN HALL TO-MORROW (NIGHT.
' Mr Louis Alsace has the honour to present for one night only at the Town Hall, to-morrow night, the Rev. Mr Papakura and his supporting company of stars from the principal theatres of ,the woi^d.
The,Rev. Mr Papakura has just returned form an extensjye tour of America, where he appeared in all the large cities, being received by the press and public with the greatest enthusiasm,' and proclaimed an artist of wonderful ability. The rich tones of his remarkable yoice and his charming personality gives an added pleasure to his performance. For the critics of New York to write with eestaey about his singing speaks volumes. Mr Louis Alsace is fortunate in securing him to tour throughout New Zealand.
Madame Rena Te Au, an outstanding vocalist with the. company, is a brilliant Maori coloratura soprano. After an extensive course "of vocal culture she entered the concert field. During the war Madame Te Au temporarily retired from the platform and took up nursing, at the same time giving her services Ungrudgingly for patriotic purposes. She possesses a rich, beautiful soprana voice,, of unusual sweetness.
Mr Alsace has. surrounded these two brilliant artists with a sterling company of musical comedy and dramatic stars, including William Bailey, the famous English impersonator and exponent of dramatic art, Paul Rozella and Jean E’Croyct, . musical comedy and sketch artists from Rickards’ Tivoli Theatres, Australia, Miss Priscilla Greene, a beautiful and vivacious comedienne, who charms 'her audience with delightful songs given with an entrancing touch of quaint comedy : Miss Mari Coleni, who was a pupil . of Mark Hambosrg, possessing unusual ability, the extraordinary power of her sensitive fingers. overcoming all difficulties of technique with astonishing ease. Mr Louis Alsace with his violin and Alsaeephone will be heard in a glorious instrumental scena. Box plan at Heath’s.
