HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION.
ANNUAL MEETING.The annual general meeting of the Ilorowhenua Rugby Union was held at Levin on Tueday night. Mr .T. Mclntyre (president) occupied the chair, and delegates were present from the following clubs: —Tokomaru, Shannon, Foxton, Wanderers (Levin), Weraroa, Old Boys (Otaki), Hui Mai (Mannkau), Kuku, Te Horo, and Paraparauinu. The balance-sheet, which disclosed a small credit balance, was read and adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —Patron, Mr W. H. Field, M.P.; president, Mr E. J. Nash; vice-presidents, one to be appointed by each club; secretary, Mr L. G. Carmichael; treasurer, Mr T. Brown; management committee, Messrs R. W. Percy, F. D. Whibley, M. Winiata, Dixon, W. Thomson, W. Bevan, and Father Viband; senior selectors, Messrs J. Desmond, L. .Weheipehana and W. Bevan; junior selectors, Messrs T. Weheipehana and J. O’Connor; auditor, Mr W. Bulk
It was decided to remove the diqualification of the Wanderer’s junior team, which was imposed at the latter end of last season, in consequence of their playing a disqualified playeT. It was decided to recommend the incoming Management Committee l o consider the question of limiting the junior competition to two rounds.
Messrs Carmichael, Thomson and Procter were appointed a committee lo control the accident insurance fund.
A meeting of the newly-elected Management Committee was held at the conclusion of the arihual meeting, when it was decided that nominations of teams for the various competitions will close on Thursday, the 20th instant, and a meeting of the Committee will be held the same night to draw up the fixtures for the first round.
