To-night’s programme will include two star features. 'The beautiful Eileen Percy .will be seen in her latest Fox success, “Little Miss Hawkshaw.-.’ Before her debut into movie-land, it will be remembered, Miss Percy was famous as an artist’s model, and later, was one of the mainstays of the celebrated Ziegfeld Follies. As a William Fox star she has become a nation-wide favourite. William Russell, in “Desert Blossoms,” is starred in the role of a young construction engineer connected with a mighty government irrigation enterprise. Many of the scenes were filmed on the Mojave Desert, in California, fortymiles from Death Valley. The story is' ; by Kate Corbaley. Arthur Rosson directed the production. Helen Ferguson is in the feminine lead.
“The Touch of a Child,” an intensely dramatic feature, will be the attraction on Saturday. This is a British Hepworth production starring Alma. Taylor and Henry Edwards, from the story bv Tom Gallon. The story is an imusnally powerful one, abounding in dramatic, action; It is the story of four people who were drawn into the vortex of passion and hatred, and of perfect love reached through the magic touch of baby fingers. As an extra “The Terror Trail” will be shown. Monday night will be notable for the special holiday attraction, “The Hundredth Chance.” This is a Stoll British Production of the very first quality, splendidly staged, weil acted, and with scenery of the tip-top-variety. More, it is full of real incident and. interest, and there are some piquant situations—so tlirilling at times that they almost startle and make one wonder how far matters are going to progress. There is the glamour of romance around it, too, and a sort of application, if one may put it, of the first principles of nature, that cannot fail to appeal to humans generally. This picturisation of Ethel M. Dell’s story will not disappoint the keenest critic. As an extra “Bride 13” will be shown. The places of admission will be 9d and Is 6d.
