The death took place at Wellington yesterday of Mr H. J. Williams, aged 74 years, who was at one time Grand Master of the Neyv Zealand Grand Lodge of Freemasons, and for many years secretary of the New Zealand Licensed Victuallers’ Association.

A meeting of lady members of the P. and T. Association was held in a certain tearooms in Napier on Monday evening, and was to have been followed by a supper. After listening to some of the remarks of a visitor, who was telling the young ladies what the Alliance of Labour would do for them, the proprietress of the. tea-rooms ordered the meeting to be closed. She -also refused to supply the ladies'with supper. She emphasised her decision by remarking,. “I think you are most disloyal.”
