Fourteen local bowlers journeyed to Levin yesterday, to play trophy and friendly matches with the Levin Club. Manawatu FERNS. A:'rink consisting of Huntley, Walker, Bryant and. F. AVhibley (vs) endeavoured to secure the Manawatu Ferns trophies, which have been in the possession of the Levin Club for some few years. The condition of .the green, considering the amount of rain that has fallen during the past week, was in good playing condition, and a very enjoyable game was played, and which was more strenuous than the scores indicate. However, the Levin rink retained the trophies by a good margin, the details being as'follows: — Huntley Ingram Walker Percy Bryant Ha iris Whibley (sj 11 Pollock (s) 26 AWAHOU FEATHERS. /A match was also'played for the Awahou Feathers, the conditions of which stipulate that each rinkr should include two “colts.” Levin was successful also in retaining these trophies, the scores being 22 —14. The teams are as follows : Stubbing ’ Derhain Walton Challis Christie P. Clements Roore (s) 14 W. Bull (s) 22' The following friendly matches were played, the home club providing the necessary men to complete the Foxton rinks: — Tait • , Pink Healey Sigley Pearson Channings Smith (s) 22 Brown (s) 26 Parkin Elements, snr. Hall , Rhodes Heasman- Frost Ross (s) 14 Ryder (s) 26 A taslv afternoon tea was provided, by the ladies, which was much npproeiated by the players.
