THE MANGAHAO TUNNELS.
CONTRACTS LET AT LOWER
PRICES.-
Co-operative contracts have now been let for the tunnelling work at Mangahao that was interrupted some weeks ago by the strike of the men engaged against a reduction in the rate of pay. There was a good (leal of competition for these contracts, and it is understood the price accepted is considei-ablv less than the pre-strike rate. Work is ex-pected-to be in full swing at both tunnels at an early date.
