SCALE OF PLAN SUBMITTED TO COUNCIL WRONG. FOOTBALLERS DECIDE TO REMAIN ON CENTRE OF GROUND. A special meeting of the Football Club and enthusiasts was held in the All Saints’.'schoolroom on Thursday night. There was a goo<) attendance, and Mr Whibley occupied the chair. CORRESPONDENCE was read and dealt with as follows: ,' From -Mr F. Robinson "and Wyllie*and Rowley, and Ed. Newman, ..Esq., fonvarding donations to tlie Club. —Received with thanks. From Mr T. J. Folks'; donating medals. —Donor to be thanked, and Secretary to confer with Mr Folks re same. From Messrs Barr and Tver, submitting quotes for jerseys.—Held over. . ! FOOTJBALL ON EASTON PARK. Mr Whibley asked the delegates' to report to, I lie meeting on what transpired at the recent, conference with the 1 Council. , , Mr Reid outlined what had transpired, and said that the morning after the meeting, tliey had taken an accurate measurement of the ground, aqd found that it was 22 feet less than given on the plan. They had immediately drawn Mr McMurray’s attention to the matter, and he agreed that there was not room for all the-games,as set out on the plan. Mt* Whibley said that the Council had held over its decision until Monday night, pending a report from the footballers/ The Council thought.that the plan submitted was correct. Had there been room, the Club would have takeri'no exception to moving : over at all. He suggested that a j motion be moved on the fines that, while the Club was willing to move if there was sufficient room, they now requested that the Council adhere to its previous decision.
It was moved by Mr E. Bryant, seconded by Mr McEwen, that while the Club was willing to move, had there been sufficient room, they now requested the Council to adhere to its previous decision, and allow the footballers to play in the centre of the ground.; —Carried unanimously. SELECTION COMMITTEE. The following were elected to act as a Selection Committee, together with the coach and captain of each grade:- Mr H. Hutchins; Juniors, Mr, McDowell; Thirds, Mr McEwen; Fourths, Mr Roore Rangihenea. It was decided that Mr Perreau pc .elected coach for the Thirds, and Mi/ Fred. Robinson be transferred to. the Fourths. ? PRACTICE TO START SATURDAY.
It was decided that the teams get to work ,right away, apd a scratch game be held at the race course oh Saturday (to-day). It was also decided to try and arrange a match .with Jackevtown, or failing them, the Returned Soldiers, at an early date, the Beautifying Society to have the gate, and to make arrangements for same.
