FIRE BOARD.

chamber of COMMERCE UNANIMOUSLY APPROVES. At last nightys meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, Air A. N. Smith brought up the question of the proposed formation of Fire Board and district for Foxton. He said the Borough Council had unanimously approved of a poll being taken by the ratepayers. The matter was of importance if Foxton was io be equipped with up-to-date firefighting appliances. He moved that the Chamber heartily approves, and recommends the ratepayers to support the proposal at the forthcoming poll. The Alayor (Air Chrystall), in seconding the motion, endorsed Mr Smith’s remarks. The motion was carried unanimously.
