“ROBINSON CRUSOE.”

“Robidson Crusoe” will be presented at the Town Hall, Foxton, next. Thursday evening, in the form of a pantomime version interpreted by Mr Brandon Holt’s clever company of principals and a capable ballet and chorus. Of the visiting combination it is said that they present an excellent performance which is marked by the introduction of a-majority measure of delightful comedy interlarded .with a sparkling series of the latest, musical successes. The company, which recently arrived from Australia, has just concluded a most successful tour of the North Island, and an exchange says“ Nothing brighter in Ihe way of a theatrical attraction has been presented locally for some considerable period than ‘Robinson Crusoe,’ which was' staged last evenihg before an immense audience. From overture'to -the final curtain the pantomime story of our old, friend Crusoe was greatly relished. Comedy and absurd situations were prolific throughout the entire performance, and hearty lau.ghter prevailed uninterruptedly. A word of praise is due to the excellent singing by a few of the principals, while the dancing by the ballet. was captivating and altogether satisfying.’ The scenery and costuming in ; conjunction with brilliant lighting effects left little to he desired.” It is said that the pantomime moves very speedily, tliei’e are no tedious intervals, the plot, with the various interludes, making “rapid fire” hits throughout. On the reputation which the company has established in the places already visited, they should attract a numerous audience next Thursday evening. Box plan now open at Heath’s.
