KENNEDY REFLOATED.

The s.s. Kennedy, which went ashore on the north beach while attempting to cross inwards on Tuesday, was successfully refloated yesterday, and was berthed at the wharf last night. The vessel was lightered of portion of her cargo prior to taking the strain on the deep sea anchor. . The refloating operations were earned out by Mr Signal, who, favoured by comparatively calm weather, was enabled to successfully refloat the vessel.

So far as can be ascertained, no materiaj damage Ims been done, but a further examination will be made before the vessel leaves for Wellington to-night.
