CONVENT PUPILS’ CONCERT.
The annual concert of the Convent pupils, held in the Town Hall last night, was attended by a large and keenly appreciative audience. The stage was artistically decorated with greenery and flowers. The programme reflected credit upon the pupils, and exemplified careful training. -It would be invidious to single out any of the pupils for special praise, when all acquitted themselves so well, but mention must be made of those taking part in the action song, “Organ Man and Monkey,” and the Japanese action song by the infant girls. The cantata, “The Happy Family,” must have entailed a great deal of work in preparation. The “Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe,” “Alladin,” “Margery Daw,” “Bluebeard/’ “Sinbad,” the “London Showman/’ and others kept the audience highly interested and amused. Mrs McDonald, who was in excellent voice, received a fine ovation for her item. The concert on the whole reflected the highest credit on all concerned.
