Dargaville, Nov. 29

Ilis Excellency the GovernorGeneral and Lady Jellicoe, accompanied by Sir Francis 8011, 1 he Hon. J. G. Coates, and a number of other distinguished guests, paid their first official visit to Dargaville and district this evening. They were met by the Mayor (Mr R. E. Hornblow), accorded a, civic welcome, and presented with an address on behalf of iho town and district. The party received an enthusiastic welcome from a large number of people from all over the district, the Maoris giving a Imka. In the evening a conversazione was held, at which the Governor and party were in attendance.

To-morrow (Wednesday) His Excellency reviews the children, after which lie will be the guest of. the Scenic Club, and proceeds to Whntoro officially to open the famous Trounson Kauri National Park. On Thursday the parly leave for the South, via Euuwni and Hauarau. During their stay in Dargaville the Governor-General and Lady Jellicoe arc the guests of Mr Alfred Harding. .
