MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.

TRIENNIAL ELECTION

Considerable interest was shown yesterday in Ihe election of five trustees for Ihe Moutoa Drainage Board. Out of a roll number of 30 ratepayers, 33 recorded their votgs. As will he seen by the notice of the result in this issue, the votes were fairly evenly distributed, and resulted in four of the old members and Mr Kenneth Easton, a new member, being returned. The ratepayers are to he congratulated in exorcising their privilege in full. The trend hitherto lias been lack of interest in elections generally, with the result that often Ihe least expected happens.
