BOWLING.
A meeting of the Committee of the Bowling Club wns held last evening, when the following business was transacted: — TRIANGULAR CONTEST. The Secretary was instructed to notify the Shannon Club that 23rd November will be convenient for the first round of the Triangular Contest.
The teams for the Triangular Contest will he selected from the following:—Pearson, Walker,,Bryant, Hawke, John Ross, Healey, D. Whibley, Nye, Parkin, Smith, McColl, F. Whihlev, Roore, Huntley, Christie, F. Woods, J. M. Barr, Spring.
GOLDER CUP.
The Grtfder Cup, a trophy presented to the Club by Mr John Colder in 1914, and which lias not been competed for for some years, was brought under the notice of the Committee, and it was decided to offer this cup for competition as n, singles trophy in connection with the ladder, and that the position of players be shown on the ladder throughout the season, the competition to he played under ladder rules, with’ the exception that the period of three days he allowed in which to play challenges, failing which a forfeit may he claimed by challenger.
CLASSIFICATION OF PLAYERS. The Secretary was instructed to post a list of members at the pavilion for classification purposes.
WILFORD CUP,
The question of arranging a competition for the Wilford Cup was given consideration, and it was finally decided that the Cup he offered as a handicap singles trophy, entrance fee Is per player. Mr llawke is to he asked to act as liundicapper.
The conditions under which the competition will he conducted will lie as follows:—
(1) Three rounds to he played before coining to the finals, hut if lime permit,s the Committee may at its discretion extend the competition by causing additional rounds to he played. (2) The first round must lie completed within four weeks from date of opening of competition. (3.) All entrants names shall he placed in a receptacle, and shall be drawn by the President at a meeting of the Commit tee. (4) At the conclusion of each game the score-card, signed by <;ach player, shall lie handed to the Secretary. (5) All games shall be of 21 heads, hut if the scores are level, an extra head shall he played.
((>). A byejiounts as a win. (7). If a player does not meet liis opponent within four clear days after being requested to do so,“the challenger may claim a win by default.
(8). If only three rounds are played, all players with two wins or more shall he eligible for Ihe first section 'of the finals.
(9). The player at the close of the competition who lias won the greatest number of games shall have his name engraved on the Cup, and shall hold same until the competition has been completed the following season.
HOLDERS OF TROPHIES
The Secretary reported that the following are the holders of the various Club challenge trophies: — Nye Ferns. —Spring, Walker, D. Whibley, R. Bryant. Stevenson Pennants. —Pearson, F. Whibley.
Club Pins. —Parkins, W. Nye
It was decided at last night’s Committee meeting that to-morrow afternoon, commencing at 1.30 o’o’dock, teams composed of those selected for the Triangular Contest
shall compete against one another in a friendly game. The first match in the Triangular competition is expected to take place at Levin on 23rd inst.
The Secretary of the local Club lias received an invitation from the Bulls Bowling Club, extending an invitation to members to visit the Bulls Club to-morrow.
