REDUCTION IN BRITAIN.

Wellington, Last Night

The Prime Minister stated in the House of Representatives this afternoon- that he had that day received information that the Bank rate of interest in Britain had fallen to 5 per cent., which would have the effect of reducing the Bank rate in the Dominion. Indeed, only yesterday a financial expert who came to see him on another matter had assured him that he believed we were on the eve of an era of cheap money.
